Jarrampa are yabbies—they are very tasty to eat but a challenge to catch because of those claws. One old woman had a clever ways of catching them—she put meat between her toes and put them into the billabong. When the crabs started nibbling at the meat, she wrapped her feet in a cloth and then into a bucket then back to the campfire to prepare a delicious meal.
This bilingual book—in Walmajarri and English—was produced in a workshop with ILF ambassador Alison Lester.
